Still the lack of local raw material components needed in the manufacturing process, is regarded as one of the barriers to PT Toyota Manufacturing Indonesia (entity) to increase the localization of its product.

“Therefore, if the local component of Toyota Innova could reach 75 percent, have been very good,” said Head of Exsternal Relation TMMIN, Irwan Priyantoko, on the sidelines TMMIN visit supplier factories, in Bantar Gebang, Bekasi.
TMMIN confessed, Irwan added, if all this raw material for manufacturing process of Toyota still imports because the volume of locally available materials are still insufficient to meet the needs of the production entity.
“So while this, we stand at 75 per cent localization of course, still awaiting the readiness of local raw materials could be used to improve the localization of products,” said Irwan.
So far, with the support of more than 120 local suppliers, TMMIN’ve managed to do localization of some products such as 75 percent of Toyota Innova, Toyota Avanza also counted 61 percent.
